Data collection on this website
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator’s contact details in the section “Note on the data controller” in this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
Some of your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter in a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically or with your consent by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. web browser, operating system or time of page access). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time about this and any other questions on the subject of data protection.
2. General information and mandatory information
Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
When you use this website, various items of personal data are collected. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you personally. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.
Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Note on the data controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
EIMA Food Processing GmbH

Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for erasure or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be erased unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the data will be erased once these reasons no longer apply.

Note on data transfers to the USA
Our website includes, among other things, tools from companies based in the USA. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. Please note that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. It therefore cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, analyse and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
If SSL/TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Access, erasure and rectification
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time about this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us about this at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you contest the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defence or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, your interests and ours must be weighed against each other. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may – apart from its storage – only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of the legal notice obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example by spam emails.
3. Data collection on this website
Cookies and local storage
This website sets cookies for statistical purposes (Google Analytics) only after you have expressly consented. We do not use advertising cookies. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no audience measurement takes place.
We store your choice in the notice at the bottom of the page in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, key eima-consent-v3). What is stored is your decision on the categories “External media” and “Statistics”, the time of the decision and the version of the prompt, but no other personal data. This storage is strictly necessary for the notice to function (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). After six months the website discards the stored decision and asks again; before then you can delete it yourself at any time.
The notice distinguishes three categories:
- Essential: stores your choice (see above); always active.
- Statistics: Google Analytics 4, only with your consent (see section “Google Analytics 4”).
- External media: Google Maps on the contact page, only with your consent (see section “Google Maps”).
You can change or withdraw your decision at any time using the link at the bottom of the page.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, on servers in the European Union. The provider processes the connection data generated when the site is accessed (see server log files) on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of this website.
Enquiry and application assistants
The enquiry assistant and the application assistant do not transmit any data to our web server. Your entries remain in your browser and are used solely to create a prepared message to info@eima.de or bewerbung@eima.de in your own email program. Your details only reach us once you send this message yourself. No data is temporarily stored on the server. Uploaded files likewise only leave your computer when you attach them in your email program and send the message.
We process application documents in order to carry out the application procedure on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and Section 26(1) BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act). After the procedure has been completed, we delete the documents no later than six months after a rejection, unless you have consented to longer storage.
Quick enquiry via the contact card
On every page you will find a contact card at the bottom right with a small form. When you submit it, you transmit your name, company, email address, telephone number (optional) and your message to a script on our server. The script forwards your details by email to info@eima.de. The form data is not stored on the web server.
To prevent abuse, we limit the number of requests per sender. For this purpose an anonymous hash of your IP address is kept on the server for no more than ten minutes and then deleted automatically. Your IP address itself is not stored for this.
The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries and in protection against abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Before sending, you confirm the processing of your details with a checkbox. The retention period is the same as for enquiries by email (see below).
Enquiries by email, phone or fax
If you contact us by email, phone or fax, your enquiry, including all personal data arising from it, will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The data you send us will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.
4. External content and fonts
Fonts
This website uses the Archivo typeface. It is loaded exclusively from our own server. No connection to servers of Google or other providers is established in the process; your IP address is not transmitted to third parties.
Videos
The product films on this website are stored on our own server and played directly on the pages (muted, starting automatically as soon as they are visible). No connection to YouTube or other third parties is established in the process. The only external video link (on the page of one production line) opens YouTube in a new tab only after you click it; Google’s privacy policy then applies. Without your click, no data is transmitted to YouTube.
Google Analytics 4
If you consent to the “Statistics” category, this website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Without your consent the service is not loaded.
Purpose: We measure, using pseudonyms, how the website is used, for example which pages are viewed, in order to improve content and offering.
Events measured: page views, submitted quick enquiries and enquiries the assistants hand over to your email program (event “generate_lead”, without the content of your entries) and downloads of PDF files.
Legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.
Cookies and IP address: Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID> (identifier of the data collection), which are valid for up to two years and recognise your browser under a pseudonym. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
Retention: Google stores event data for 14 months and then deletes it automatically.
Transfer to the USA: Data may be transferred to the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of the European Commission pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR); standard contractual clauses have also been agreed.
Data processing agreement: We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, using the link at the bottom of the page. Measurement then stops and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Maps
On the contact page we offer a map from the provider Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is not loaded automatically. Only when you expressly click “Load map” is a connection to Google established and your IP address transmitted. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, which you can withdraw at any time.
The map belongs to the category “External media” in the privacy notice; in addition, the prompt directly at the map remains in place.
The transfer of data to the USA is based on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Details: privacy.google.com. More on how user data is handled can be found in Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
