Process 02
Washers for vegetables and potatoes
Whether light soil adhesion or heavily soiled field produce: the washing step is designed around the product, the degree of soiling and the available water volume. In the peeling lines, the washer works together with the peeler’s water recycling.

Washing: our designs
Every design is engineered for your raw product, its degree of soiling and your target capacity.
Immersion washer
Intensive cleaning in a water bath, ideal for heavily adhering soil and heavy field produce.
Spray washer
Water-saving final wash via spray bars, often used directly before inspection.
Combination washer
Washing and destoning in one step, with a significantly smaller footprint.

This is the information we need to recommend the right design and size for you.

01
Degree of soiling
Heavily adhering soil calls for the immersion washer, light soiling for the water-saving spray washer.
-
02
Water
Fresh water availability and waste water costs decide how much water should be recirculated.

03
Sensitivity
How much mechanical stress can the raw material take without bruising?

Frequently asked questions
Washing: frequently asked questions
Heavily adhering soil and heavy field produce belong in the immersion washer, light soiling in the water-saving spray washer. The immersion washer cleans intensively in a water bath; the spray washer works with spray bars and is often placed directly before inspection.
Which design fits depends on the degree of soiling, the product and the water available.
By recirculating part of the water. How much depends on your fresh water supply and waste water costs.
In the peeling lines the washer works together with the water recycling of the peeler: the system filters the peel out of the waste water and returns the water to the washer. The spray washer is also the water-saving option.
Yes. The combination washer washes and destones in one step, with a considerably smaller footprint. In the VWS version, pre-washing and stone separation are combined in one chassis.
This is mainly worthwhile where floor space is tight. Whether separate destoning suits your raw material better depends on soiling and throughput.
